TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The White House says a northern Ohio congresswoman is among the U.S. delegation traveling to Ukraine for the presidential inauguration.
President Barack Obama says that Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur of Toledo is attending Saturday's inauguration.
Also on the trip are Vice President Joe Biden and Senator John McCain of Arizona.
Kaptur represents Ohio's 9th congressional district that stretches from Toledo to Cleveland.
She has a personal connection to the eastern European nation. Her grandmother and grandfather were born in Ukraine.
She's made at least a dozen trips to Ukraine over the last four decades and is viewed as an expert on the country.
