Native American healthy living focus of walk

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is hosting a walk later this month to encourage healthy lifestyles among American Indians.

The clinic is a nonprofit organization that provides health care services to more than 18,000 Native Americans in the Oklahoma City area. American Indians face a range of health issues, including higher rates of diabetes as compared to other groups.

The Walk for Wellness is designed to encourage healthier habits and lifestyles. It's scheduled for 7:30 a.m. June 14 at Remington Park in Oklahoma City.

A health fair is also scheduled to provide attendees with information on the clinic's services.
