COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say an Ohio lawyer meeting with an incarcerated client was arrested after allegedly slipping the inmate prescription painkillers.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says Columbus attorney Philip Cramer was meeting with his client at a county jail annex Wednesday when deputies saw Cramer give the prisoner something.
Cramer was arrested after deputies searched inmate Joseph Frowine and said they found prescription drugs, including oxycodone.
Sheriff's detectives say Cramer admitted bringing oxycodone into the jail to give to Frowine.
Both men were charged with illegal conveyance of oxycodone into a detention facility.
A court hearing was set for Friday for the 74-year-old Cramer. Court records don't list an attorney, and Cramer didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
