COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police in central Ohio say homicide detectives were sent to a Columbus rooming house after a badly decomposed human body part was found at the property west of downtown.
A Columbus police spokeswoman says the owner and a maintenance person were at the house for a routine check late Thursday morning when they smelled something odd and noticed the body part. They called police.
The police spokeswoman wouldn't say what body part it was or where it was found, only that it was human. She also had no immediate details on whether anything else suspicious was found.
She says one person at the three-bedroom property was taken in for questioning.
Investigators remained at the scene later Thursday.
