COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The uncle of an 8-year-old boy who died days after being shot in the head has been arrested on a murder charge in the boy's killing.
The child, identified as Jamarion Cox, died last month after police say he was struck four days earlier while riding in a vehicle with three adults and a younger boy. Police haven't disclosed the circumstances of the shooting.
Police identified the suspect as the boy's uncle, 23-year-old Robert Broom of Columbus, who was charged with murder on April 16 and arrested Thursday.
Broom was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday. No bond had been set, and court records didn't list an attorney for him.
