BLUFFDALE, Utah (AP) — A couple escaped serious injury when their small airplane crashed in a field in a town about 20 miles south of Salt Lake City.
Police say the plane was en route from Washington state to New Mexico when it lost power and the pilot landed Saturday night in Bluffdale.
The plane flipped over on impact, coming to a rest on its top.
Police say the pilot and his wife had planned to land in Provo and spend the night there, but the plane failed to make it there. Provo is about 25 miles south of Bluffdale.
Their names were not immediately released.
The crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
