UNITY, Maine (AP) — Police say a Unity man who's legally allowed to grow and sell marijuana to qualified patients under Maine's medical marijuana program was also selling to people not qualified to legally purchase pot.
Robert Hubbard was one of two men arrested on drug charges Thursday.
Police say the 51-year-old Hubbard and his roommate, Spencer McGarey, were charged with illegally selling marijuana and heroin.
Drug agents say they have been making undercover buys of pot and heroin from the men for two months.
A search of their home found 94 marijuana plants, none of which had a legible tags affixed to them bearing the qualified patient's name as required under medical marijuana laws. Also seized were three guns, more than five pounds of processed marijuana and prescription pills.
