AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Police in northeast Ohio say two men have been arrested for allegedly stealing 180 bronze vases from graves at a cemetery.
Local media reports said a scrap yard called Akron police after the men tried to sell the vases that stood as part of tombstones at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Springfield Township.
A detective said the vases were worth $35,000.
Springfield Township police arrested one man last week and charged him with receiving stolen property. Another man turned himself in on Monday and will face the same felony charge.
Police said pawn shops that bought some of the vases also could face charges.
