MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) — A fire official says a woman was found dead and a firefighter was injured in a house fire in southwestern Ohio.
Deputy Chief Paul Lolli says crews found heavy fire and smoke when they responded to a call that a Middletown home was on fire Thursday morning.
Lolli says bystanders reported that three people lived in the house and might be trapped, but firefighters only found the woman. Her name was not immediately released.
Lolli says a firefighter who was injured when the roof collapsed was treated at a hospital and released.
Lolli says investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
There was no immediate damage estimate. Lolli says it took about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control in the split-level, wood frame building.
