1 rescued, 2 transported in NE Ohio apartment fire

CANTON, Ohio (AP) — A television station is reporting that firefighters have transported at least two people from an apartment fire in Canton.

WEWS-TV in Cleveland reports (http://bit.ly/1eLCCRt ) crews in Canton were dispatched around 7:25 a.m. Saturday to the three-story brick apartment building on 25th Street NW near Market Avenue. Several residents were reportedly inside when the fire broke out.

Firefighters said at least one person was rescued and at least two were transported to the hospital. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist displaced residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
