Prescription drug take-back event set for Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa residents are being urged to drop off their unwanted, expired or unused prescription drugs at a take-back event set later this month at locations throughout the city.

The event is scheduled April 26 at several grocery stores and a pharmacy.

The service is free and anonymous. Law enforcement agents will be on site and medications will be sent to an incinerator for disposal.

Residents can also bring unwanted prescription drugs to one of the three police divisions or the sheriff's office.

Studies suggest a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained through family and friends and out of home medicine cabinets.

A list of drop-off sites can be found at .
