CINCINNATI (AP) — Police say they are investigating two separate fatal shootings that occurred the same day in a Cincinnati neighborhood as homicides.
Police said in a statement that they responded to a call about a person down in the Westwood neighborhood around 6 a.m. Friday. They say 25-year-old Dawan Trotter apparently died from gunshot wounds. He was found in the yard of a residence.
Police say a second man was shot about 11:30 Friday night not far from the area where Trotter's body was found. Police said 38-year-old Jackie Perkins was taken to a hospital where he died.
Police did not immediately release additional details of the shootings or the hometowns of the two men. They also did not say whether or not they thought the shootings might be related.
