Pilot killed after small plane crash near airport

ALBANY, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a small plane has crashed across from the Ohio University airport, killing the pilot.

The Columbus Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/1mNZbEA ) that the plane crashed around 6:30 p.m. Saturday near the Route 50-Route 32 split in Albany.

Athens County spokesman Dan Pfeiffer says that the pilot was the only person in the four-seat plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration was investigating.
