WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Hundreds of people are expected to take part in a walk this weekend to raise money for multiple sclerosis research.
The 2014 Columbia Walk MS event is set for Saturday at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater.
Sixty percent of all the funds raised will go toward programs, services and advocacy for people living with MS. The other 40 percent supports national research to find the cause and cure of MS.
Organizers hope to raise $45,000 at Saturday's event, which includes lunch for people who participate in the walk and live entertainment. Online donations are also accepted at www.walkmscarolinas.org .
