MCCONNELSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — The son of a woman whose body was pulled from a river in southeast Ohio last week has been charged with her murder.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that 22-year-old Jacob Harrod was charged with murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse in the death of his mother, 46-year-old Lisa Kangas.
The sheriff's office said Kangas was killed March 25. Her body was pulled from the Muskingum River Friday night.
Other details, including the cause of death, weren't released. Harrod was jailed with a $750,000 bond. Records did not indicate if he had an attorney.
Kangas' funeral was scheduled for Wednesday.
