TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Police in northern Ohio have are looking for a man suspected of shooting a German shepherd whose front leg had to be amputated.
The stray dog was found last week in a Toledo neighborhood with a bullet wound in her leg. The dog's leg had to be amputated on Friday.
Police are searching for a 25-year-old man they believe is responsible for shooting the dog.
The Blade (http://bit.ly/1mI5dcN ) newspaper in Toledo reports that an animal-rescue group is now caring for the dog. They say they've already heard from people who want to adopt her.
A veterinarian who operated on the dog says she should be able to get along fine and that she is already up and moving.
