CINCINNATI (AP) — Firefighters in southwest Ohio had to plunge into a retention pond to rescue a 9-month-old girl whose stroller rolled off a walking path and into the water.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/PdkNPs ) reports that it happened Monday afternoon in West Chester Township, north of Cincinnati. The baby was with her grandparents and some other children. She was strapped in the stroller when it rolled off the path into water about 10 feet deep.
Divers said they found the girl and the stroller submerged in the water about 5 to 6 feet off the bank.
Crews performed rescue breathing at the scene before flying the baby to a hospital. Details of her condition weren't available.
