GARRETSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A large fire has swept through a historic downtown block in the northeastern Ohio village of Garrettsville.
WKYC-TV in Cleveland reports that as many as 15 fire departments from Geauga and Portage counties have responded to the scene.
A dispatcher with the Garrettsville fire department confirmed that firefighters were on the scene, but had no details to release.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports that Garrettsville Mayor Rick Patrick says he believes several businesses have been lost in the fire.
Media outlets say there were no immediate reports of any injuries.
Garrettsville, which turns 150 this year, has about 2,200 people.
