Facebook photos lead to lemur taken at Ohio fair

OTTAWA, Ohio (AP) — A prosecutor says Facebook photos tipped off police to the whereabouts of a lemur swiped from a fair in northwest Ohio.

The photos investigators say showed a 21-year-old man at parties with the lemur on his shoulder.

Derek Mangas of Leipsic was sentenced this past week to 20 days in jail and a $500 fine.

Prosecutors say the lemur was stolen from a petting zoo at the Putnam County Fair last June.

The Courier newspaper (http://bit.ly/Od6F8n ) in Findlay reports that Mangas' attorney says that alcohol contributed to his client's decisions.

The attorney also told a judge that Mangas did take care of the lemur.

The lemur's owners say the animal has been more aggressive since they got it back and they can't put it in the petting zoo.
