TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma man accused of mailing an inoperable bomb to a famous Arizona sheriff once unsuccessfully sued a former business partner.
William Stewart told agents he believed Gregory Shrader was trying to frame him because Stewart's name was listed on the package's return address.
The 55-year-old Shrader was taken into custody last week after FBI agents and the U.S. Postal Service inspector served a search warrant at his rural home in Jay.
It was unclear where he was being held, and calls to his attorney and the U.S. Marshal's Service in Tulsa were not returned Wednesday. It's also unknown when Shrader will appear next in federal court.
Shrader is accused of mailing a homemade bomb to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio last April.
