EAST CHINA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A southeastern Michigan hospital has relocated some people from areas where a boiler problem had sent an irritant through the ventilation system.
A spokesman for St. John River District Hospital in St. Clair County's East China Township says there were no injuries from the leaking irritant on Wednesday morning.
Brian Taylor says people and personnel were moved from part of the emergency room and radiology department to other areas as a precaution, and fire and hazardous material crews investigated.
Taylor says the irritant hasn't been identified, but authorities say it could affect breathing and cause eye discomfort.
The hospital is about 40 miles northeast of Detroit.
