ARLINGTON, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Highway Patrol says a trooper suffered minor injuries when his patrol car was struck in the median of Interstate 80 while he was investigating a previous crash.
The patrol says a pickup towing a trailer lost control Monday and struck Trooper Kaycee Shroyer's car about 1.5 miles east of the Arlington interchange.
Shroyer was treated at a Laramie hospital and released.
The patrol says Shroyer was in his patrol car parked off the pavement with his emergency lights on.
Authorities say 24-year-old Brian P. Stockham of Boulder, Colo., was driving the pickup. He wasn't injured.
He was issued a citation on charges of speed too fast for conditions and transporting a hazardous material without required placards. The patrol says the Stockham's trailer contained compressed nitrogen and oxygen.
