East Coast braces for yet another winter storm

WASHINGTON (AP) — School is canceled, buses are halted and federal government workers are staying home as the nation's capital braces for a storm expected to dump a foot of snow on parts of the East Coast.

The latest frigid blow threatened as much as 10 inches of snow by the end of Monday in Washington, Baltimore and elsewhere in the Mid-Atlantic region. Up to 6 inches of snow was predicted to the north in Philadelphia, while nearly a foot of snow was expected in parts of New Jersey.

Residents say they're sick of the harsh winter. Nicole Peace of Arlington, Va., says snow days are no treat for her family because she and her husband have to work from home.

The forecasts were enough to shut much of Washington down.
