Police: No suspect in pregnant Maui woman's case

WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — Maui police say they don't have any suspects in the case of a pregnant woman who vanished more than a week ago.

Capt. John Jakubczak told reporters at a news conference Tuesday that police have interviewed people who were last in contact with Carly Scott, including her ex-boyfriend.

Jakubczak says the case continues to be classified as a missing person's case.

The expectant mother was last seen Feb. 9 at her sister's Haiku home. Family members said she left the house to help her ex-boyfriend, whose car had broken down on Hana Highway.

Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa says police are doing all they can to find Scott and another Maui woman missing since last month.

He says the community needs to be patient as investigators look into what happened.
