Woman dies of flu in Brevard

TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Health officials say a third person has died from the flu in Brevard County.

Florida Today (http://on.flatoday.com/1btUR6K ) reports a 63-year-old woman who had been on life support for at least a month is the latest victim. She died on Wednesday at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville.

Officials say a fourth person remains on life support at the hospital.

In January, a new mother in her 20s and another person died of the flu. Health officials said none of the patients had received a flu shot and all had underlying medical conditions, including diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pregnancy.

Health department epidemiologist Bayy Inman told the newspaper the virus is starting plateau in Brevard County, but they're not "out of the woods yet."
