LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — Sheriff's deputies say an 18-year-old southwest Ohio man was killed by two other teens who then dumped his body several counties away.
Warren County Sheriff Larry Sims said Justin Back was an "innocent victim" of a plot by two 19-year-old men to burglarize the home Back shared with his parents near Waynesville, south of Dayton.
An autopsy is pending, but investigators believe the men choked, stabbed and shot Back before dumping his body in Preble County, north of Dayton, where it was found around noon Wednesday.
Sims called it "a very brutal murder."
Sims said Back knew one of the men from high school. They visited Back at his house Monday, and investigators believe they returned Tuesday to burglarize it.
The suspects are expected to be formally charged Thursday.
