Tuberculosis case confirmed in Doddridge County

WEST UNION, W.Va. (AP) — Doddridge County health officials say an active tuberculosis case has been confirmed in the county.

The Doddridge County Health Department tells media outlets that it has advised others potentially exposed to the illness to be tested. No other cases have been confirmed.

Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease that's spread through the air and attacks the lungs. It can also affect other parts of the body, such as the kidney, spine and brain.
