2 Toledo firefighters badly hurt in building fire

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Two firefighters were critically injured and taken from the scene of a blaze at a North Toledo apartment building on stretchers.

The fire department was expected to hold a news conference Sunday night to release details on the firefighters' conditions.

A battalion chief on the scene of the fire around 3:30 p.m. in a six-unit apartment building on Magnolia Street near the Huron Market tells WTOL-TV that the firefighters were attacking the blaze when they became disoriented.

The firefighters were taken to Mercy St .Vincent Medical Center, and a large crowd of Toledo Fire Department personnel gathered.
