JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A longtime state lawmaker says he plans to be back at work next week after undergoing gallbladder surgery.
Democratic Rep. Steve Holland of Plantersville was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson on Thursday after having abdominal pain.
He tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/1dBAa8F ) that he was having surgery Friday.
Holland has been in the state House since 1984, representing a district in Lee County.
