NORTH CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Skeletal remains of two infants found in a deceased Ohio woman's mobile home have been sent to the University of North Texas for analysis.
A man found the remains in a locked footlocker in mid-December while cleaning out his mother's home in North Canton, about 45 miles southeast of Cleveland. Police say the 66-year-old woman died in late November.
Police say it doesn't appear the children died recently, and nothing found in the home explained the remains. The police chief says the bones were small enough to fit in someone's hand.
Authorities initially planned to send them to forensic anthropologists in Pennsylvania but instead chose North Texas. The Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/1hLhcl8 ) reports investigators hope to get more clues from lab testing and the anthropology department at the university.
