CINCINNATI (AP) — The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber is marking its 175th year, with plans for events of celebration, history and looking ahead.
The chamber plans a float in Reds' Opening Day parade this spring, programs for sharing views on where businesses are headed in the next 25 years, and to have the 100th year convention of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives in Cincinnati in August.
The chamber traces itself to a meeting called by firms and individuals in 1839. One of the chamber's early roles was to help settle disagreements within the local business community.
The chamber promotes economic development and cooperation, offering business, networking, leadership and educational programs. It has 5,000 member businesses.
Its CEO Roundtable series opens Jan. 29 with Rich Graeter of the expanding Graeter's Ice Cream chain.
