3 plead not guilty in violent Phoenix holdup case

PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say a fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Phoenix strip club that led to the shooting of a police officer and a civilian on New Year's Eve.

Police announced Wednesday that 30-year-old William Herbert Mayes was taken into custody on Tuesday in New York City on a warrant charging him with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

It wasn't immediately clear when Mayes will be extradited to Arizona.

The three other suspects in the case pleaded not guilty Wednesday.

Police have said suspect Jason Beau Keep thought his former employer had up to $500,000 in a safe and allegedly spearheaded the robbery.

Only suspect Roger Allen Sharp has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in the case.
