SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Missouri State guard Marcus Marshall, the team's leading scorer, is out indefinitely after tearing the meniscus in his right knee during a weekend overtime loss to No. 5 Wichita State.
The sophomore will have surgery Wednesday to repair the tear. Bears coach Paul Lusk announced the move on Tuesday, three days after a 72-69 home loss in which Missouri State led its unbeaten conference rival by as many as 19 points in the second half.
Marshall 's average of 14.3 points per game leads Missouri State (12-4, 2-2 Missouri Valley), which visits Indiana State on Wednesday . Marshall was the conference freshman of the year last season. He had already missed four games with a sprained left knee.
