ALLIANCE, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio man is expected in court to face charges that he tried to pay $400 for a 10-year-old girl he could keep in his home and use for sex.
Authorities say 36-year-old Robert W. Thomas of Cuyahoga Falls was arrested Saturday night in Alliance after he sought someone online who could arrange a "marriage" between him and their daughter.
An Alliance officer working with the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force said Thomas told him he wanted to keep the child permanently at his home for sex and "train her to please him."
Police said he was arrested after showing up to meet the undercover officer with money in hand.
He's charged with trafficking in persons and other crimes. No attorney information was available for him.
