Billboard features plea for kidney donation

LEBANON, Tenn. (AP) — A new billboard on Interstate 40 features a Lebanon woman's plea for someone to donate a kidney to her husband.

WTVF-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1dFmGco ) that the billboard on I-40 West heading into Nashville features Cindy Johnson's photo and phone number, in addition to the request for a kidney donation for her husband Bobby Johnson.

Cindy Johnson says it has been heartbreaking watching her husband of nearly 32 years go through dialysis three times a week. She says a kidney transplant is the only option to help improve and extend her husband's life.

Bobby Johnson is battling chronic kidney disease and is living with end stage renal failure.

The billboard has generated a few phone calls and multiple hits on the advertised website.
