CINCINNATI (AP) — A Cincinnati woman and her boyfriend have been indicted on charges including child endangering and falsification after the woman's 3-year-old daughter was hurt by gunfire and police said the adults lied about what happened.
Police say the girl was shot Dec. 17 in the home she shared with her mother, 28-year-old Ebony McDavis, and 25-year-old Cordero Warren. Police say the two adults initially blamed random neighborhood gunfire but McDavis later acknowledged the story was false.
The Hamilton County prosecutor says Tuesday's indictment charges Warren with illegally having the loaded gun that hurt the girl. McDavis and Warren also were charged with assault and tampering with evidence.
McDavis' attorney didn't immediately return a call for comment. Court records didn't list an attorney for Warren.
The prosecutor says the girl remains hospitalized.
