Idaho records first flu-related death of season

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Health officials say the state's first flu-related death this season is a person over 60 from south-central Idaho.

The Idaho Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/18VUeqQ ) that state health officials do not release any more information about the person who died because of privacy concerns.

The death was reported Monday.

Last year, there were 35 flu-related deaths in the state.

Flu season usually peaks in January or February. Last year, it peaked in late December.

Health officials urge residents to get a flu vaccination.
