Records: Ohio man who ran over son drove home

PLAIN CITY, Ohio (AP) — Court records say an Ohio man accused of leaving without talking to authorities after running over his 4-year-old son drove home and asked his girlfriend what to do.

The man was arrested after he showed up at a hospital in suburban Columbus and was told that his son had died.

Natividad de Jesus Hernandez was charged with failure to exchange information after an accident.

He is due in court Monday, but no attorney information was listed in court records.

State Highway Patrol troopers say the boy fell out the van his father was driving and was run over Thursday morning near a construction site in Union County, northwest of Columbus.

The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/19uv5UH ) reports that Hernandez told authorities that he was there to steal scrap construction material.
