FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) — The son of a Williamson County pastor who died on his 19th birthday will be honored during the Rose Parade on Jan. 1.
Pastor Steve Berger told WKRN-TV (http://bit.ly/1ddINdi) that he and his wife did not know Josiah Berger had signed up to be an organ donor until after he died in a car wreck in August 2009.
Berger told the station that because of his son's lifesaving donations to others, "he lives on in more than one way. He lives in heaven and he lives on Earth."
This year, the Rose Parade's Donate Life float will have a portrait in flowers of Josiah Berger. Also, a charity named after the teenager will present a "dedication garden" as part of the float.
