PLAIN CITY, Ohio (AP) — A father was scheduled to be in court after State Highway Patrol troopers say he drove away without talking to authorities after running over his 4-year-old son who had fallen out of a van.
Union County jail records said 30-year-old Natividad de Jesus Hernandez of Columbus has been charged with failure to exchange information after an accident. He was in jail pending his court appearance Friday morning, but no attorney information was listed.
The patrol said his son, Angel Gustbabo Hernandez, fell out the van his father was driving Thursday morning near a construction site in Union County, northwest of Columbus. Troopers say the boy was run over by the vehicle and taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
His father was arrested later.
