Ohio man killed in snowmobile crash

NORWALK, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a 44-year-old man has killed in a weekend snowmobile accident in northern Ohio.

The Sandusky Register (http://bit.ly/1cKll7l) reports that Gary Jenkins of Norwalk was killed late Saturday when the snowmobile he was riding struck a culvert and threw him south of Sandusky.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the 1997 Ski-Doo snowmobile struck a tree after hitting the culvert. The Huron County coroner pronounced Jenkins — who was wearing a helmet — dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
