CLEVELAND (AP) — Police in Cleveland say a man forced his way into an apartment and set a fire that killed two children who were asleep in a bedroom.
A fire official confirmed the deaths of the two girls, ages 2 and 7, in the Thursday night blaze on the city's east side.
Officers responding to a call of trouble at the four-unit building at about 10 p.m. found it on fire. Officials said the girls were pronounced dead at a hospital later.
The children's aunt, who was babysitting, said an unknown man forced his way in and put her in a bathroom before setting the fire. No other details were available.
It happened on the same day a house fire killed four people in the Dayton suburb of Kettering.
