NELSONVILLE, Ohio (AP) — An entrepreneur and mayor who has worked for Appalachian regional economic development will be honored for his efforts for his home region.
The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio says Greg Adams was chosen the Child of Appalachia honoree for his achievements and contributions. There will be a Dec. 6 luncheon celebration at Muskingum University.
The event is part of the Nelsonville-based foundation's "I'm a Child of Appalachia" campaign, meant to promote pride in the region and confidence in ability to succeed. Much of the region in southern and eastern Ohio is rural and has lagged economically.
Adams has been a volunteer director for the Ohio Appalachian Business Council, seeking regional development. He is also the CEO of TDPI Ventures and is the longtime mayor of New Concord.
