TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A Toledo neighborhood is on edge after a weekend shooting that left a store clerk wounded and a would-be robber dead.
Police say Christopher Shockley intended to rob the West Toledo Stop & Go carryout on Saturday and shot the clerk, December Long. Long then fatally shot Shockly.
The (Toledo) Blade (http://bit.ly/184qlhT ) reports that the 29-year-old Long was taken to a hospital. Officers haven't said which one of the men fired first.
The 28-year-old Shockley was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Toledo police listed Shockley's address as a halfway house where inmates undergo supervised transition from incarceration to society.
