VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Officials say an 11-year-old boy arrested for investigation of attempted murder after bringing a gun, knives and more than 400 rounds of ammunition to his Vancouver middle school has been expelled.
The boy, who has not been identified, is set to make a court appearance Thursday.
Evergreen Public Schools spokesman Kris Fay says the boy has been expelled.
Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp says detectives are investigating whether anyone else knew what the boy was up to when the weapons were found Wednesday.
Police were notified that the ammo was found and arriving officers discovered the weapons. No one was injured.
Kapp says Frontier Middle School was declared safe after a two-hour lockdown.
