BRIDGEPORT, Ohio (AP) — More than $80,000 is missing from a school district in far eastern Ohio, and the superintendent says he believes a hacker is responsible.
WTOV-TV in Steubenville (http://bit.ly/16qBdeK ) reports the FBI is investigating the possible theft from the Bridgeport Exempted Village School District in Belmont County.
The station says the investigation started last week after school officials learned the district's bank account was overdrawn. Employees were warned this week that the computer system may have been compromised.
Superintendent Ted Downing says he doesn't think any school employees are to blame. He says extra security measures have been added.
