NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. (AP) — A 90-year-old Holocaust survivor is about to make his orchestral debut with Yo-Yo Ma.
Longtime pianist George Horner will play with the renowned cellist Tuesday night at Boston's Symphony Hall.
They'll perform music composed at the Nazi prison camp where Horner was incarcerated 70 years ago.
The concert benefits the Terezin Music Foundation. It's an organization dedicated to preserving the work of artists and musicians killed by the Germans.
Horner is now a retired doctor living near Philadelphia. He says it's a noble endeavor to carry on the musical legacy of Holocaust victims.
Event organizer Mark Ludwig calls the concert "an extraordinary link to the past."
