ZANESVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Closing arguments are under way in the trial of a man charged in the death of a woman found beaten and burned on an eastern Ohio road.
The prosecution and defense were expected to present final arguments Wednesday in court in Zanesville. The jury then would consider the case against 34-year-old LaFonse Dixon of Canton. He has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder, kidnapping and aggravated arson charges.
He is one of three people charged in the death of 29-year-old Celeste Fronsman, also of Canton.
Two women charged in the case pleaded guilty and testified against Dixon. They said the trio took Fronsman from Canton to rural Muskingum County, where she was set on fire and abandoned in August 2012.
A driver found Fronsman, and she died two days later.
