Redman, TobyMac lead winners at Dove Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Singer-songwriter Matt Redman has won a leading six trophies and TobyMac has been named artist of the year at the Dove Awards.

Redman used his song "10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)" to rule the Gospel Music Association's annual Christian music awards, winning songwriter of the year and song of the year.

It was TobyMac's second artist of the year award on his seventh nomination in the category and his first since 2008. He won a total of four awards to bring his career total to 18.

Other top winners included Chris Tomlin, Tasha Cobbs and Jason Crabb with three apiece and Lecrae and Tamela Mann with two each.

Kirk Franklin and Amy Grant hosted the awards, which will air Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on UP TV.
