LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — A motorcycle ride is happening in the Midlands this weekend to raise awareness about childhood cancer.
The Midlands Ride For Kids is happening on Sunday. The event starts at Lexington High School is part of a national effort to raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Rides like this one have been happening for several decades around the country, but this is the Ride For Kids' first event in the Midlands. Organizers say there will be more than 200 bikes, along with music, awards and family-friendly events.
The ride is being sponsored by Carolina Honda. Proceeds help fund medical research and family support programs.
